オーロラ科学、太陽地球系電磁気学。特に、オーロラ爆発、磁気圏尾部。
Research
オーロラが爆発的に明るくなる現象(auroral breakup)を、理解しようとしています。具体的には：
- オーロラ爆発と磁気再結合との、因果関係。
- 極域電離圏の、地上・衛星観測データによるモデル化
- サブストームにおけるプラズモイドの役割。
主な研究手法は、異なる領域のデータを組合わすことです。太陽地球系では、太陽でのフレア、太陽風でのCME、地球でのオーロラ、磁気嵐など、さまざまな現象が、異なる領域と因果関係を持っている（だろう）ところが面白いと思っています。風が吹けば桶屋が儲かる感じです。

京大で博士号 -> NASAで3年 -> 宇宙研で2年 ->
2003年に名古屋大学(豊川キャンパス) ->2006年に名古屋。
趣味：キャンプ。
特技：囲碁、フェンシング。ここ数年はご無沙汰。
